WHO IS MR GUMBATRON?

Founded in early 2014. MR. GUMBATRON began as a creative outlet for its founder Lex Mak, an Architect, entrepreneur and self-confessed coffee connoisseur who always valued the importance of dressing well.

This creative exploration has since evolved into the personal lifestyle brand MR. GUMBATRON; which seeks to inspire the modern man to always put his best foot forward. Lex has an acute eye for style and creative composition; His fascination into structure, materiality and texture extends beyond Architecture and into the world of Fashion.

Formally trained as an Architect, Lex graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Masters of Architecture (1st Hons), He has years of experience working in the architectural industry in Melbourne before founding his design studio focusing on F&B interiors including mainly coffee shops, restaurants and retail spaces. This design niche was a natural as he spent over a decade working in the hospitality industry (an experienced cocktail mixologist, barista, bar supervisor & events manager to name a few roles).

Lex has since gained a notable following on Instagram for sharing his unique perspective on his two passions of specialty coffee and menswear fashion.

Living by his personal motto, “Dress well. Drink well. Live well”, along with his unique style, aesthetic and influence has led him to working with brands such as Cathay Pacific, Aston Martin, GQ Australia, Mr Porter, Esquire, LVMH, Richemont and more across Australia & Asia (Hong Kong).

MR. GUMBATRON was once listed as one of the '25 most stylish Australian men on Instagram' by Man of Many.

Positioning himself as an Architect, Entrepreneur and Style icon, Lex is the Creative Director and face behind MR. GUMBATRON. With the vision of inspiring others through his life, coffee adventures and style cues.

Perfect for those looking for menswear inspiration within the daily grind.
