Review: The Watch Stand Duo

The Watch Stand Mr Gumbatron Audemars piguet Royal Oak

Stop hiding your watches in your sock drawer, carry case, or in it’s dusty original box, it’s time to take them out for display. Crafted from the finest materials, The Watch Stand has a luxurious feel and provides a stable platform for storing and displaying your timepieces.

You may have already heard of The Watch Stand from the horological websites, magazines, Instagram, and various watch forums over the years, the brand has gained a notable reputation amongst horology enthusiasts and the watch collecting community who display their timepieces on these beautifully designed stands.

The Watch Stand is a stylish addition to your side table and to proudly display your precious timepiece.

The Duo watch stand features a genuine Italian leather cushion, a solid marble base, and anodized steel hardware. There is a nice heft (1030g to be precise) to the stand, largely due to the solid marble base, which feels secure, so you don’t need to worry about god-forbid knocking over the stand by accident, there are also rubber feet at the corners of the base to keep the stand in its precise place.

Handcrafted in Europe with the finest leather and marble from Italy, no obvious logos just how I like it, in fact, their logo is engraved on the bottom side of the base aware from anyone's eyes. The design is really rather simple and comprises of just three components; The base, the vertical, and the cushion. A variety of natural stone base options are available, three different hardware finishes (gold, silver, black), and also various leather options. The Watch Stand will satisfy the tastes of any discerning watch owner and fit seamlessly into any interior decor or lifestyle.

As a person that greatly appreciates all things understated, I chose a “stealthy“ all-black spec for that uniform and unassuming aesthetic. The Duo stand as the name eludes fits two timepieces comfortably on soft cushion pads, the stand also comes in a single watch configuration if you prefer. Perfect to be displayed on the nightstand, desk, shelf, or in a cupboard as you store your watch overnight and between wears.

Not simply a beautiful object that compliments your home decor, watch stands help to prevent the inevitable scratches and blemishes that build up when putting your watch on a hard surface. If you are traditionally a watch roll person then a watch stand may be an alternative solution that takes away the inconveniences of using a watch case daily. Actually, you could even take The Watch Stand when traveling with you, perhaps The Classic stand to display your favourite traveling companion.
