O.O.D - Objects of Desire Launch Event with The Macallan & Denver & Liely.

On a late Monday afternoon on the 13th of October we marked the official launch of O.O.D - Objects of Desire. In the company of friends, VIPs and brand partners, O.O.D Founder Lex Mak hosted guests at one of Hong Kongs most private and exclusive members clubs, helmed by famed international architect & product designer Steve Leung and his son Nicholas Leung, Club C+, a private cigar and members club with only 30 members mostly vetted through the club founder and multiple club associate referrals.

C+ club members are mostly from a design related profession and all share the common interest of appreciating the ‘finest things in life’ whether it be in cigars, wine, food, automotive or art collectibles. Club C+ was the perfect venue to launch O.O.D - Objects of Desire with its sophisticated, detail orientated and moody interiors. A true celebration of distinguished tastes and exclusivity, two quintessential interwoven threads at O.O.D.

The club is pronounced si ga in Cantonese, which sounds much like cigar. It is also a homophone for the Cantonese word meaning “private”.

For the inaugural gathering we took the opportunity to showcase some of the brands that we represent and offered our guests a small appetite of the retail experience at O.O.D. We invited founder and designer, Denver Cramer from the premium Australian glassware brand Denvier and Liely to come and share about his design philosophies and showcase some products, including an innovative engineering driven wine glass with a aeration fins as well as their original cult whisky glass that he designed 10 years ago that shot his brand to frame.

For our guest to truly experience the function over aesthetics philosophy of Denver and Liely, we invited The Macallan to conduct a whisky tasting using D&L whisky glasses with expressions of The Macallan double cask 15years old and 18years old.

Canapes and bars snacks by Club C+ (former head chef from St. Regis, Hong Kong) elevated the experience as we sipped on drams of speyside’s finest long into the evening.
