Review: The Watch Stand II

The Watch Stand II is the second design iteration of The Watch Stand, crafted from the finest materials, The Watch Stand II remains its luxurious feel and provides a stable platform for storing and displaying your treasured timepieces.

You may have already heard of The Watch Stand from the horological websites, magazines, Instagram, and various watch forums over the years, the brand has gained a notable reputation amongst horology enthusiasts and the watch collecting community who display their timepieces on these beautifully designed stands.

The Watch Stand is a stylish addition to your side table and to proudly display your precious timepiece.

The Watch Stand II features the same quality genuine Italian leather cushion, a solid marble base, and the newly designed split offset steel hardware. There is a nice heft to the stand, largely due to the solid marble base, which feels secure, so you don’t need to worry about god-forbid knocking over the stand by accident, there are also rubber feet at the corners of the base to keep the stand in its precise place. Given the weight of the stand, the rubber feet will leave small indentations on softer surfaces such as leather or books covers; something to keep in mind when styling/displaying your watch stand. The new side mounted vertical support is one of a more refined aesthetic over the original version, it appears to be inspired by the design language of an open bridge inside a watch movement. The placement of the vertical support allows easy access to valet your watches, however I wished the leather pillow was not finished with the steel detail on the open end, as I can see this causing unwanted knocks or scratches to watches if you are not careful when you valet your precious timepieces.

Handcrafted in Europe with the finest leather and marble from Italy, no obvious logos just how I like it, in fact, their logo is engraved on the bottom side of the base aware from anyone's eyes. The design is really rather simple and comprises of three components; The base, the vertical, and the cushion. A variety of natural stone base options and different hardware finishes (silver & black) are available. The Watch Stand II will satisfy the tastes of any discerning watch owner and fit seamlessly into any interior decor or lifestyle. The original Watch Stand does come in a wider range of configurations.

Not simply a beautiful object that compliments your home decor, watch stands help to prevent the inevitable scratches and blemishes that build up when putting your watch on a hard surface. If you are traditionally a watch roll person then a watch stand may be an alternative solution that takes away the inconveniences of using a watch case daily. Actually, you could even take The Watch Stand when traveling with you, perhaps The Classic stand to display your favourite traveling companion.

Contrary to the brand name; The Watch Stand also produces other accessories including travel cases/watch rolls, winders, and watch trays as part of their collection. Have a browse at their collections and find the perfect gift for the watch enthusiast that has it all. They ship express worldwide.
